Isaac Odoom

Dr. Isaac Odoom is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Carleton University (Canada) specializing in International Relations and the Politics of Development in the Africa. His research focuses on Africa-China relations, with particular attention to China’s digital expansion, energy investments, and African agency. He is currently leading a project on China’s Digital Silk Road and Geopolitics in Africa’s Digital Frontier, examining the political and strategic implications of Chinese digital ventures in Ghana. Dr. Odoom is also a Non-Resident Fellow at the Centre for Asian Studies, University of Ghana, and was a Visiting Researcher at the Institute of West Asian and African Studies in Beijing. He serves on the executive board of the Chinese in Africa/Africans in China Research Network as well as on the Board of the Canadian Association of African Studies. He has published on China’s role in Africa’s energy and mining sectors, South-South cooperation, and African agency in development partnerships.
